Cell Phone Records - Awareness in Our Bills

This article deals with cell phone hacking and how we can be vigilant by checking our cell phone records to see if they are always accurate.

Imagine the hassle of looking up your cell phone records and seeing bills for calls you didn't make. This isn't as far fetched as it may sound. Sure, cell phone lines were hijacked a lot in the days of analogue, but in the digital era? Well, as long as there is technology, there will always be someone trying to hack into that technology. And, unfortunately, many people find evidence of hackers right in their cell phone records.

Cell Phone Records - You Hack!

Basically, hackers are always on the lookout for new technology to challenge and cell phones provide massive appeal. Why? Is it the free minutes one can acquire through using someone else's phone? Or is the the cell phone numbers one may steal if he successfully hacks a phone?

It's both, and a lot more. Hackers can now copy your phonebook's numbers and use your phone without your consent ? a very damaging invasion of privacy indeed. Remember the celebrated Paris Hilton cellphone case? A teenager was convicted of hacking the hotel-heiress's phone and posting her numbers online. It was a shocking case in that anyone as young as a teenager can do this. And if we're not careful, we could be the next victims.

Cell Phone Records - What's the Protection?

How do we stop hackers from using our phones? Well, there's no surefire way. We just have to be very cautious in who we give our numbers to and who we let use our phones. Even then there's no guarantee our phones will be 100% safe. Cell phone companies can be hacked too.

That's not to say there's a massive hacking problem threatening everyone across the world; it's not an epidemic. But you never can tell who the next victim might be.

One way you can tell if you're a victim of hacking is to check your phone bills properly. Have there been any calls you don't recognize? Any numbers that you've never seen before?

If so, before you complain of phone hijacking, why not try doing some reverse searching to identify the owners of the numbers. You never know, maybe your friend or relative used your phone to make a call without you knowing; hence the unidentified number.

Yet if you're certain there are numbers that are unrecognizable to you, then you might want to take the issue to your cellular company to check if something is wrong. They can then help isolate the problem and, if there is a hacker onto your account, help shut that person down.

As we've mentioned, hacking isn't happening in mammoth waves. But it DOES happen. We can deal with it by being vigilant and aware. And by using some of our own tools like reverse number search, we can make sure our cell phone records are as true and accurate as possible.
