Basketball star Shaquille O’Neal has lost that loving feeling,
filing for divorce from his wife of five years, Shaunie Nelson, divorce
records show. The Miami Heat center, 35, filed the marriage divorce
records papers through his attorney Ira Elegant in the Miami-Dade
Circuit Court in Florida. In the divorce records documents filed
Tuesday, September 2007, O’Neal claimed that his marriage to
Nelson had been “irretrievably broken,” going on to accuse
his wife of being secretive with his money.
O’Neal’s marriage divorce records petition revealed that
the estranged couple had signed a prenuptial agreement prior to their
lavish December 26, 2002 wedding held in Beverly Hills. Both parties
are intent on keeping the details of the said prenuptial papers under
lock and key.
In his divorce records petition, O’Neal, 35, accused Nelson of
being shady about her personal assets, particularly with regard to
certain properties titled or owned in her name or other entities.
Available divorce records reports say that the basketball star demanded
that Nelson give their lawyers a correct and accurate accounting of all
funds, bonds, stocks, moneys as well as other securities that she
obtained during their five-year marriage.

allege that Nelson transferred millions of dollars from the sports
star’s accounts without his say-so, into her personal offshore
and inland holdings. O’Neal has asked the courts to order a
complete investigation into every single penny that his wife came into

children together – Shareef, seven years old; Amirah, five years
old; Shaqir, four years old; and Me’Arah, 1 year old. A divorce

O’Neal, nicknamed “The 8th Wonder,” recommended that
his estranged wife Nelson take primary residential custody of the
couple’s four children.

his Miami Heat contract, plus the endorsement deals he gets that are
estimated to be worth a couple of millions more each year. O’Neal
and Nelson have listed their home on the posh Star Island of Miami
Beach for about $32 million, roughly $13 million more than what they
paid for it after “The 8th Wonder” was traded to the Miami
Heat by the LA Lakers prior to the 2004-2005 season.
