In February 14, 1989, Mike Tyson and Robin Givens divorced in Los Angeles at a settlement of $10 million. Tyson is now retired from boxing and is living quietly after declaring bankruptcy in 2003. He is single and enjoys the company of his children. Robin Givens continues to do roles in plays and a few movies. She is also single at the moment and is happily raising her two children.

He was known for knocking out his opponents during the first round of his matches and was able to unify the belts by being champion in the heavyweight division. Tyson was constantly in the middle of a predicament throughout his career.

Robin Givens is an actress who appeared in a number of movies during the eighties. Givens and Tyson got married in 1988 and lived together in the boxer's New Jersey mansion according to marriage divorce records.

After only one year of being together, Robin Givens filed for divorce due to spousal abuse. In public divorce records, Givens described her marriage with Tyson as “torture, pure hell and worse than anything I could ever imagine”. She said that Tyson would constantly stalk her and was suspicious about everything she did outside the house. He would beat her even when she was asleep which prompted her to end their relationship legally in court.

Givens stated that Tyson was a manic-depressive who would suddenly have fits of rage and was indeed a very violent man. She never bore a child to Tyson although she did have a miscarriage earlier in the relationship.

Tyson retaliated by suing Givens and filing for annulment which was rejected in court. He stated that Givens was basically just after his money. Not only that, Tyson was declaring that she was ruining his reputation and career because of her open statements directed negatively upon him. The court provided restraining orders for Tyson to stay away from Givens throughout the duration of their separation. The divorce was finalized on Valentine's Day in the Dominican Republic.
