Data about Kirstie Alley and Parker Stevenson from Divorce Records
Kirstie Alley and Parker Stevenson's marriage lasted for a good 13
years before Alley finally filed a divorce in 1997 citing
irreconcilable differences. During their marriage, they adopted two
children, William True and Lillie Price and Alley had a miscarriage and
stillbirth. Alley's loss of her two babies put a great strain on her
which resulted to lack of communication with her husband as well as
occasional mood swings.
Although the couple stated that not having any kids naturally was never
the subject of their arguments, there were times when they did argue
about their adopted ones. In public divorce records, both Alley and
Stevenson were working on the set frequently and there were moments
when they could not decide who should be left to take care of the kids.
Alley owned a California mansion and a ranch in Maine and Kansas. The
couple also had two yachts and a number of expensive cars which were
bound to be shared between them at the time of divorce. Stevenson asked
for joint custody over their two children as well as spousal support at
$75,000 a month alimony reaching a total settlement of $6,000,000.
There were a number of controversies behind the settlement and the fact
that the husband managed to walk away with such a huge sum of money
plus shares in Alley's multimillion-dollar properties. Joint custody
was granted by the court. At the time of their separation, William True
was only 4 years old while Lillie Price was 2. Their separation was
announced publicly during the fall of 1996.
