Data about Drew Barrymore and Tom Green from Divorce Records
On December 17, 2001, just six months after their wedding, Tom Green
filed for divorce due to irreconcilable differences. One of the notable
differences was that Barrymore was a recovering drug addict but was
still persistent in letting Green get into her game as well. Green was
disturbed by his wife's strange behavior offset. He claims that
Barrymore had a problem dealing with her fears and anxiety. There also
was reported tension between Green's non-celebrity family and friends
and his wife's world-famous entourage since the wedding. The divorce
was official on October 15, 2002.
Public divorce records indicate that Green had high respect for
Barrymore even at the time of divorce filing. He stated that there were
also good things about his wife, like being with him as he fought
testicular cancer the year before and keeping sane when their Hollywood
Hills home nearly burned down, resulting to over $700,000 in damages.
However, Drew continually battled alcohol and drugs even though she was
active in rehabilitation. Reportedly, there were a few times that
Barrymore allegedly offered her husband drugs shortly after their
wedding. Barrymore's family ties were also on the rocks which may have
caused her to behave inappropriately or constantly in anxiety.
Divorce Records Aftermath
This settlement would be the first for Tom Green and the second for
Drew Barrymore who was initially wed and divorced to bar owner Jeremy
Thomas in 1994 from divorce record search. Currently, Green is still
doing shows and providing ideas for reality-based humorous stints.
Barrymore, on the other side, is having the time of her life, as she
made the top 1 slot in People's annual 100 Most Beautiful People for
2007. Gucci also recently made her the main face of their new jewelry
collection. She is very active in charity work and became Ambassador
Against Hunger for the United Nations Food Programme. Divorce records
search shows that Barrymore at the meantime is completely off alcohol
and drugs.
