composer Foster and American actress and songwriter Linda Thompson
filed divorce papers in July 2005 en route to putting their marriage of
14 years behind them. David Foster's life at home was featured in the
2005 Fox reality TV show, “The Princes of Malibu, ” where
he attempted to straighten the lives of his two spoiled step-sons.
Linda Thompson is a former Miss Tennessee and was a regular in the '70s
TV series “Hee Haw.”

David Foster and Linda Thompson said goodbye to their 14-year marital
union when a divorce petition was filed in Los Angeles Superior court,
public divorce records showed. According to official marriage divorce
records, Thompson, 55, submitted the divorce papers on July 11, 2005.
As to what specifically caused the split, the mom on the FOX reality
series only said that it would “remain personal and
private.” A divorce records search failed to reveal the exact
reason cited for the breakup.
Foster and Thompson were wed on June 27, 1991, available public divorce
records revealed. After they tied the knot, the pair turned into a
songwriting team, collaborating on a number of songs like “My
Grownup Christmas List” along with a few songs for the film
“The Bodyguard” soundtrack.

daughters: Amy (by his first wife); Jordan, Sara and Erin (by his

and Thompson married in 1981 and divorced two years later in 1983, the

sold. The said property was the setting for the reality show
“Princes of Malibu.” Profits from the sale would reportedly
be divided equally by both parties, according to public divorce records
obtained.
Foster assisted Thompson in the writing of the lyrics to the official
song of the 1996 Summer Olympics, “The Power of the Dream,
” which was composed by Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds
and David Foster. In 2003, Foster and Thompson bagged the Academy Award
for Outstanding Music and Lyrics for the song “The Concert for
World Children's Day.”
