Data about Alexander Payne and Sandra Oh from Divorce
Records
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge pulled the plug on Alexander Payne's
and Sandra Oh's marriage, after a year and a half of the relationship
being on life support, public divorce records revealed. On December 21,
2006, the courts officially restored the two to single status. Public
divorce records showed that Oh cited irreconcilable differences as the
primary reason for the marital breakdown and eventual split. The
Canadian actress filed the petition on April 14, 2005 at the Los
Angeles Superior Court, requesting spousal support.
A divorce records search revealed that it was the first marriage for
both Payne, 46 and Oh, 36, who tied the knot on January 1, 2003, after
three years of dating. They had no children. The two announced their
plans to separate in March 2005, just fresh off making the rounds of
awards circuits for their independent dama-comedy
“Sideways.” One month after stating their mutual
decision
to remain friends despite the collapse of their marriage, Oh filed for
divorce. It was further learned from the public divorce records that Oh
asked the courts to block Payne from requesting anything from the
actress.
While their divorce is final, the “Grey's Anatomy”
doctor
and her estranged husband, “Sideways”
writer-director
Payne, had still not completely resolved their financial differences,
marriage divorce records indicated. As per court marriage divorce
records papers, the two had yet to divide up profits from their Pretty
Intelligent Girl Productions, plans from the Directors, Writers and
Screen Actors Guilds, and financial packages from other joint ventures.
Court marriage divorce records revealed that Payne and Oh still needed
to resolve several other money matters. According to related divorce
records info, decisions had yet to be made regarding who got what when
it came to retirement and pension funds. In late 2006, Oh's legal team
filed a declaration explaining that she and Payne wanted the divorce
decree released this year so they could file separate tax returns,
related public divorce records showed.
